Who I am

Hi friends, I'm Cristina and what you'll find on this website is everything I create with my hands, which goes by the name of Crisiceramiche. Why Crisi? It's simply one of the many nicknames I have, and among them, it's the one I like best. (Yes, okay, I admit it... it also actually describes a part of me, the one always in a crisis and gripped by anxiety).

I was born in Perugia in 1998 but grew up in Marche, in a small town called Fermo. I am the fourth of seven children (yes, my parents are crazy) and I must say that being in the middle is one of the best positions: it has its pros.

I sculpted my first ceramic object on September 25, 2022: I had placed a small wooden board on the kitchen table and that's how I created my first mug.

After a lifetime spent searching for something that would allow me to express the creative need I had always felt inside, and after graduating from a faculty that was too "theoretical" for me, I realized that clay could be the material that would allow me to achieve my goal. Or at least so far; who knows what will happen in the future. So, self-taught, I started experimenting, and here I am.

There's not much to know about me; I like simple things, nature, animals, tranquility, music. Speaking of music, it is the other fundamental component of my life. As a child, I studied piano, and later I discovered guitar and singing. Today, alongside my work as a ceramist, I am the keyboardist for singer-songwriter Lorenzo Sbarbati, who is also my life partner.

I am a CRAZY dog lover. No. Seriously. I LOVE these beings. The love I feel for them is INFINITE and IMMEASURABLE. The dog you see in the photo is Dattero; he was born in my hands, in a litter we had at home. Three puppies stayed with us, along with their mother.

If you're wondering what strange breed this is, so beautiful, spectacular, graceful, elegant, DIVINE, it's a Basset Hound.

My dogs are my muses: the first objects I made were miniature versions of them. And they continue to inspire me constantly.

I like pop colors and raw shapes. My ceramics are entirely handmade, and I enjoy emphasizing the irregularity of their forms.

I intend to experiment as much as possible, so stay tuned, because you'll see all sorts of colors (literally).

This is where I live, in the countryside, surrounded by nature. Sustainability is very important to me; I try to minimize any ceramic waste, and the packaging material I use is 100% paper.

Thank you for making it this far,

Cristina
